I agree that the experiments should be stopped immediately. I was going to sign the letter posted on facebook but I don’t agree with the terms – calling for the resignation of the chancellors and pro vice chancellors. I do not see how this would benefit the cause and I believe will actually do the opposite – a newly appointed individual may continue with supporting such work at the University. A statement as you have of the gratuitous nature of such experimentation is the most powerful unarguable rational and to get involved in political demands I believe, detracts from this necessary request of the University. I would advise you to write this letter also to the ethics committee that has granted permission for these experiments to proceed and demans on what grounds they can justify this experimentation.
the vice chancellor and pro vice chancellor have the authority to remove the funding to the animal experimentation’s being carried out inside Newcastle university we are calling for there resignations for refusing to cease the animal experiments
